It’s about time I share this lovely spring wedding at Mount Hope Farm in Bristol, Rhode Island! This is seriously one of my favorite wedding days I’ve been a part of. While it was a full wedding with 100+ friends and family, the whole day felt like it was truly meant for just Kara and Nick. I sometimes reflect on what makes these kinds of days work, and I’m always brought back to three things:
I met Kara on the very first day of Freshman Orientation at college (RWU – go hawks!) and just a year later, the two of them met at a party down in New Res. Now, they have a house together, rescued two kitties, Nick enjoys the house projects while Kara works on her custom creations – over at Kindly Kara!
Kara started the day getting ready with her girls in the suite provided by Mount Hope Farm. I loved how historical and charming the rooms were, with lots of light and space filled with vintage furniture. She had a first look with her grammie (are you crying like me?! how freakin’ adorable is she!!), a first look with her dad, and then we headed down to the ocean for a first look with her soon to be husband, Nick!
Kara had a small group of her girls stand by her in sweet dusty blue dresses & Nick and his guys, many of them from the baseball team he played on at RWU, pulled off those navy suits with ease. My favorite pop to the classic blue palette was the soft yellow. Kara’s mom passed from ALS, and she always sung Kara “you are my sunshine” so Kara wanted to add a pop of sunshine yellow to honor her mom.
