Oh my GOSHHHH where do I even begin with Hannah & John’s intimate Superstition Mountain wedding?! Everything about their wedding weekend was so intentional and thoughtfully planned, but I loved how carefree they were at every moment of the day together.
John and Hannah met in college at a party playing flip cup against each other and being the stand up guy he is, he let her win. John also played for the Univ. of Alabama hockey team and invited Hannah out to one of his games (he was the starting goalie), sparking their shared love for hockey for the future years to come. Music is also a big part of their relationship, specifically good ole’ country—which is why they decided to hire a country music band from Nashville to fly out and play at the wedding! It was such a nice, thoughtful touch to the day, and Josh & his band were awesome. Fun fact, Hannah is crazy about even numbers so the whole wedding was planned around that concept (April 8, 2022) — the end.
I got to work with my favorite videographer duo – Mark & Val from Veiled in Motion. Check out the highlight clip from Hannah & John’s wedding (and then hire us for your wedding team of course). Cloth & Flame has two locations in the mountain desert to host events, this space was smaller, and there is a larger section as well. They were a wonderful team to work with, and I was thrilled Hannah went the extra mile to hire a separate day-of-coordinator, Taylor (and her lovely mom) to get everything sorted out on the day of. Having a wedding in the middle of the desert on a 105 degree day was no easy feat. When I say hire a team you trust to have your back, I mean it.
My absolute favorite part of the day was watching Hannah & John have their private last dance together. They sent everyone onto the bus and then spent the next few minutes soaking up the desert stars as they danced under the moonlight until the the music slowly ended. It was such an emotional few minutes to watch them crying and singing together, knowing how much the two of them poured into planning this day in the Superstition Mountain desert with their closest loved ones – and seeing that it was all worth it.
Now here’s the fun part!! The next day, we got in the car and drove over to Papago State Park to take day-after adventure photos with them!!! I always encourage my destination couples to do an extra session either the day before or after – and they wanted to put on their wedding outfits and get allllll the beautiful pics to remember what an amazing place they chose. Check out their Day After Wedding Photos over here!
