What do you get when you mix a DIY Boston wedding venue with an industrial warehouse? Welcome to Warehouse XI – the perfect location for low key couples looking to have a more untraditional style wedding day in the city. When I first met Caty & Rory at their engagement session, I knew they would have a super fun day planned. We ran around their Boston neighborhood and ended the night hanging up on the rooftop, chatting all about future wedding ideas.
We started their day at a Sonder hotel over in Cambridge to get ready, and then took off for the venue for the rest of the day. They had one of their favorite local musicians come for the ceremony while guests were being seated in the park. And then something I’ve never seen before happened – during the ceremony, Caty had her bridesmaids stand on the opposite side so they could see her and she could see them, and Rory’s groomsmen stood behind Caty. I typically see family sit on the opposite side, but had never heard or seen the wedding party do this! It was really cute and unique!
Afterwards, we ventured off to a nearby park and spent the next 15 minutes taking sunset portraits of just the two of them. It was a nice little escape from the hustle and bustle of a jam packed wedding day & I always recommend to my couples that you take a few minutes to just exist, the two of you, and be fully present with one another. Congrats Caty & Rory, thank you so much for having me capture your Warehouse XI wedding!
