It was a rainy Saturday, September 21st—because of course, the weather heard “wedding day” and said, “Let’s be dramatic!” But if there’s one thing I learned about Emily and Meredith, it’s that they know how to turn any forecast into magic.
Set at the historic Lyman Estate in Waltham, their wedding felt like the ultimate cozy dinner party. With dreams of an al fresco celebration under twinkling lights, they gracefully pivoted to an indoor setup that was just as stunning decorated with candles, pearls, and cascading florals.
The day began with Emily and Meredith getting ready together as they put the final touches together and it was such a testament to their love—it’s the kind of moment that reminds me why I’m so passionate about being an LGBTQ+ inclusive wedding photographer.
We explored the mansion and greenhouse for portraits, basking in the estate’s timeless elegance. And then, umbrellas in hand, we dashed outside into the rain. Because if there’s one way to make the most of a stormy wedding day, it’s to grab your person, laugh in the face of the weather, and dance through the puddles like you own the world.
The ceremony by the fireplace mantle, adorned with lush florals by @lupine_flower_company, was an absolute dream. Guests were treated to an unforgettable meal by @tastings_caterers and @farouticecream, with music from @vintage_string and @finetunedj keeping the energy high all evening.
The night ended on the porch with a final, intimate dance. Rain or shine, Emily and Meredith’s Lyman Estate wedding was nothing short of extraordinary—a celebration of love, laughter, and making the most of every moment! PS the dance floor pic of Meredith and myself lives rent free in my mind.
