So, I recently had the chance to capture a stunning Belle Mer wedding in Newport, RI, and let me tell you, it was a wild ride! Alexandra and Mikey are such a fun couple, and their big day was anything but ordinary. Mikey kicked things off with his boys, and instead of the usual pre-wedding jitters, they decided to hit the baseball field. I mean, how cool is that? Watching them throw some pitches and just enjoy their time together was such a refreshing twist on the typical “groom gets ready” scene.

Meanwhile, Alex was getting ready in the bridal suite space… The sky was initially a soft blue, but it started to shift into these dramatic shades of gray. You could almost feel the anticipation in the air. The ceremony site was all set up at Belle Mer’s Island House venue, and as the sun peeked out, it created this magical glow. They exchanged their vows with the stunning Newport scenery as their backdrop, and just when they said “I do,” the skies opened up and it started hailing! Yes, hail in May! It was such an unexpected twist and honestly they just rolled with it, laughing and embracing the wild moment.

Despite the weather drama, the rest of the day kept that classic black-tie vibe going strong. Those elegant touches combined with the vibrant sunset hues created such a dreamy backdrop for some unforgettable shots. We ended the night with a champagne tower and a dress change that kicked off the party! The way they effortlessly let loose and just enjoyed each moment truly reflected what weddings are all about – love, laughter, and a little unpredictability! It just goes to show that no matter what happens, if you’re surrounded by the right people (and a perfect Belle Mer Wedding site) you can make any moment unforgettable.
