Hopefully after gushing over St. John Virgin Islands wedding you’ll be in the vacation spirit! The US Virgin Islands and British Virgin Islands are amazing locations for a destination wedding – so if you’re interested in a destination venue, check out this post with 5 other incredible tropical locations! The highlights of the day were Laura & Shervin’s first look up at Calichi at Picture Point (the highest point of the island!), their 2-part traditional & Persian ceremony, and the lovely sunset dinner amongst their closest loved ones.
I met Laura back at Simmons College (go Sharks!) where we were both in the business program. As part of the Business Liaison, I actually was one of Laura’s mentors! I love full circle moments like these, it’s so special to see people continue a successful path and get to see them through so many great years of life. For Laura, that meant a life with Shervin. They originally planned a wedding up in Maine, and after a few months of feeling like it wasn’t the right decision, she messaged me asking if there was a possibility to change wedding plans and bring their closest family and friends out to an island they’d vacation on for years.
Immediately, YES. With all destination weddings, I knew I’d need to bring someone along to assist on the trip as a second shooter & go-to support system. And who better than to bring my girl, Rhody Ray. She was an absolute life saver on the wedding day, getting some super amazing shots from up on the tower & ceremony, running around with all the gear, and being a calming presence for all the guests. It may sound cheesy, but the both of us truly felt like family by the end of the night – thank you Laura & Shervin for all the love 🙂
